Dash Arts respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about how we use the information we have. This policy outlines how we collect information about you, how we use it and how we hold it. We are publishing it to inform you that any personal information you supply will be used only by Dash Arts.

This policy is written in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA), and from 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation.

How we collect your information

You give us your information when:

● You subscribe to our newsletter on our website,

● Buy tickets to our events (through various venues),

● Respond to our research surveys in writing or via Google Form

● Make a donation to support our work

● Apply to one of our workshops or castings

● Apply to work directly with Dash Arts

What Information We Collect

For those who have subscribed to our bi-weekly newsletter we only collect your name and email address. When you register for our events, you are asked for your name and email address as well as the names and email addresses of those who will be accompanying you (which you can decline to provide). People who kindly respond to our post-event research surveys, either in-venue or through Google Forms, are also asked for:

• Email address (if you choose to subscribe to our mailing list)

• Postcode (you have the right to decline to provide this information)

• Information about age, gender, ethnicity and disability (you have the right to decline to provide this information)

If you choose to make a donation, your billing details will be requested in order to process the donation. We will also ask for your Gift Aid preferences.

If you apply for a workshop or casting notice we will ask for your name, telephone number, email and postal address, and, where relevant, details of your work history and/or experience.

If you apply for a job or intern/work experience vacancy we will ask for your name, contact details including telephone number, email and postal address, details of your qualifications and educational history.

We may also collect the following data from third parties:

Depending on your privacy settings, you may provide permission to collect data from social media and online services such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google.

Dash Arts also uses publicly available data in order to help us fundraise better. This could include press and media sources, archives, housing market websites, official company websites, charities and arts organisations, Companies House and shareholder information in the public domain.

How we use that information and with whom we share it

We use the trusted service of Mailchimp to store the names and email addresses of those who have subscribed to our newsletter mailing list.

The information you provide when booking tickets is used to convey tickets, and for us to use to inform you of essential updates regarding the event for which you are registered. If you have consented to receive a post-event survey at the point of registration we will export your name and email address to Google Forms. The anonymised information collected through our surveys is used for research purposes only and is shared under the protection of confidentiality agreements with Arts Council England and their associated sector support organisation The Audience Agency. This is in connection with our audience reporting requirements as a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England. Beyond these obligations, Dash Arts does not share, publish or trade information gathered through surveys to any other third party.

If you make a donation via CAF your billing details will be stored with CAF. For all donations we will store your name, address, gift details, gift aid status and other relevant information on our database HubSpot to ensure we can thank you and contact you in the future in the appropriate manner unless you request for us not to do so.

We use HubSpot to store all of our contacts, including individuals and organisations we communicate with, and/or have worked with, as well as audiences who have booked to attend our events if they have agreed to data sharing at the point of sale or by subscribing to our newsletter. We store your name, email, address, phone number and other relevant information to ensure we can contact you in the future in the appropriate manner unless you request for us not to do so.

Your choices regarding the information we hold

Each email newsletter includes a link at the end, allowing you to ‘Update your preferences’ or ‘Unsubscribe’. You can use this to manage your preferences or unsubscribe at any time.

You may request details of the personal data we hold about you under the General Data Protection Regulation. If you would like a copy of the data held please send a description of the data you would like to see, together with proof of your identity to info@dasharts.org.uk.

The accuracy of your personal data is important to us and you can help keep our records up to date by telling us when your contact details and other personal data changes, and if you change your mind about how we contact you.

How we use Cookies

Google Analytics uses cookies (small pieces of text saved to your hard disk) in order to collect information about how visitors use dasharts.org.uk. Dash Arts use the information to help improve the site.

The cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the site, where visitors have come to the site from and the pages they visited. Google will store this information.

As stated above, ‘personally identifying information’ collected by Dash Arts is ‘age-free’ and will only be used for internal purposes like audience analysis.
