How We Create Work
Dash Arts develops projects through multi-year Seasons - sustained explorations of the urgent questions shaping our world. Rather than producing isolated shows, we work thematically over time through research, travel, workshops, conversations, performances, podcasts, and artistic collaboration.
Across our Seasons, certain ideas recur: democracy and civic participation, migration, belonging, identity, and the meaning of home. We work internationally with artists, academics, communities, and participants whose lived experience and expertise shape the work as it evolves.
Each Season leaves a legacy. Projects generate new relationships, new questions, and often new productions. Our European exploration EUTOPIA led to Dido’s Bar, which in turn has inspired our forthcoming production Songs of Solidarity (2027–28). Earlier work on post-Soviet identity in Revolution17 developed into our ongoing collaborations with Ukrainian artists, including Crimea 5am and The Reckoning.
These Seasons allow us to build depth rather than quick responses - creating work that is informed, collaborative, and connected to the communities and cultures it reflects.
