Dash Arts Forum at Latitude Festival 2021

Location: Faraway Forest at Latitude Festival, Henham Park, Suffolk

Feed your mind, share ideas and be inspired by artists, musicians and performers from across Europe in this pop-up Forum from Dash Arts. 

Gather inside our woodland tent, grab a tea from the community kitchen and enjoy a rousing programme of gigs, interactive theatre, change-making speeches, film screenings, craft-making and late-night DJ sets. Highlights include explosive Belarusian punk band Sasha Ilyukevich & The Highly Skilled Migrants and award-winning European films Soviet Hippies, Disco and Atomic War and Oscar-shortlisted The Christmas Gift.

The Forum is part of our EUTOPIA season, exploring what it means to be European, and curated by Artistic Director Josephine Burton. 

Film screenings are made possible with support from the Embassy of Estonia in London, The Romanian Cultural Institute in London, and Chocolate Films.

Join us in building and inhabiting our pop-up Forum in the Faraway Forest for an extraordinary session at Latitude Festival. Townsquare, public house, marketplace, theatre, gig venue, listening space and debating chamber where we breathe life back into our democracy.

Our Forum will serve as a performance venue for gigs from across Europe, theatre where audiences are part of the performance, fevered political and philosophical debate with special guests, citizen’s assemblies, films, art-actions and late night djs.

The Forum is part of Dash Arts current series of work, EUTOPIA – exploring what Europe means and what it means to be European. Dash Arts’ Forum is curated by Dash Arts’ Artistic Director Josephine Burton and Designer Bryan Woltjen and packed with musicians, actors, activists and thinkers from across Europe.


Dash Eurosquat
22-23 September 2018 | Rich Mix, 35-47 Bethnal Green Road, London E1 6LA | FREE

Installation, debating chamber, and performance venue, Dash Arts and Rich Mix London present the Eurosquat. Over the course of the weekend artists, actors and musicians from across Europe will build a makeshift community with your help. Drawing on the best examples of occupying spaces, our Eurosquat will evolve through the weekend. Impromptu music gigs, theatre, art-actions, and late night DJ sets await alongside a warm welcome, drinks and snacks.

Help build our new community; sip hot tea or something stronger; join the urban social movement; engage in fevered political discussion with special guests and enjoy spontaneous music and theatre from across Europe where audiences are part of the performance.

Dash Eurosquat

Our Latitude Eurosquat was an amazing weekend of building, performing, dancing and living in an idealistic commune with an amazing community of artists, volunteers and festival-goers. Dash Arts' Euro-Squat was curated by Dash Arts co-Artistic Director Josephine Burton with Dash Arts Creative Associate Bryan Woltjen and packed with hidden text, musicians, actors, activists and thinkers.

Dash Squat: A European Counter-Cultural Takeover

Dash Arts occupies the V&A with an electrifying performance space where live music from the wonderful British Portugeese singer songwriter Nessi Gomes, impromptu theatre, art-happenings and fevered political discussion awaits you alongside a warm welcome and endless drinks and snacks.

Part installation, part immersive experience, part debating chamber and part performance venue, the Dash Squat invites you into a provocative and compelling, quintessentially European environment.

On the day of the first round of Presidential Elections in France, the Dash Squat will house an invigorating and entertaining search for the heart of Europe. What is it? Who wants it? Who doesn't? And why...?
