Privacy Policy

Dash Arts respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about how we use the information we have. This policy outlines how we collect information about you, how we use it and how we hold it. We are publishing it to inform you that any personal information you supply will be used only by Dash Arts; we will not sell or distribute information to anyone, so your involvement with the site will be spam-free.

This policy explains:
• How we obtain your personal information
• What information we collect
• How we use that information and with whom we share it
• Your choices regarding your information we hold
• How we use cookies

This policy is written in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA), and from 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation.

How we collect your information

You give us your information when you subscribe to our newsletter on our website, register for our free Dash Cafés via Eventbrite, or respond to our research surveys in writing or via SurveyMonkey.

What Information We Collect

For those who have subscribed to our bi-weekly newsletter we only collect your name and email address.

When you register for our free Dash Cafés on Eventbrite, you are asked for your name and email address as well as the names and email addresses of those who will be accompanying you (which you can decline to provide). If you choose to make a donation, your billing details will be requested in order to process the donation.

People who kindly respond to our post-event research surveys, either in-venue or through SurveyMonkey, are also asked for:
• Email address (if you choose to subscribe to our mailing list)
• Postcode (you have the right to decline to provide this information)
• Information about age, gender, ethnicity and disability (you have the right to decline to provide this information)

We assure our followers on Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter that we do not collect any personal details on these social media platforms.

How we use that information and with whom we share it

We use the trusted service of iContact to store the names and email addresses of those who have subscribed to our newsletter mailing list. You can access the iContact privacy policy on their website.

The information you provide to Eventbrite when booking tickets for our Dash Cafés is used by Eventbrite to convey tickets, and for us to use Eventbrite messaging service to inform you of essential updates regarding the event for which you are registered. We do not use this information outside of Eventbrite, unless you have consented to receive a post-event survey at the point of registration, in which case we export your name and email address only to SurveyMonkey. Your email address will not be used for any reasons unconnected to the survey for the specific event you had registered for. As for processing of donations via Eventbrite, we do not hold your billing details anywhere other than Eventbrite. You can access these third parties’ respective privacy policies on the Eventbrite and SurveyMonkey websites.

The anonymised information collected through our surveys is used for research purposes only and is shared under the protection of confidentiality agreements with Arts Council England and their associated sector support organisation The Audience Agency. This is in connection with our audience reporting requirements as a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England. Beyond these obligations, Dash Arts does not share, publish or trade information gathered through surveys to any other third party.

Your choices regarding the information we hold

Each email newsletter includes a link at the end, allowing you to “Manage your Subscription”. You can use this to manage your preferences or unsubscribe at any time. If you encounter any problems or queries, you may contact us by email, phone or post:
